The FreeType engine is a free and portable font rendering engine, developed to provide advanced font support for a variety of platforms and environments. FreeType is a library which can open and manages font files as well as efficiently load, hint and render individual glyphs. FreeType is not a font server or a complete text-rendering library. This version is compiled with the patented subpixel rendering enabled. It transparently overrides the system library using

    2011-11-17 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.4-6 - Add freetype-2.4.4-CVE-2011-3439.patch from Fedora freetype (rh#753837)

    2011-10-23 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.4-5 - Add freetype-2.4.4-CVE-2011-3256.patch from Fedora freetype (rh#749174) (Handle some border cases)

2011-07-25 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.4-4 - Add freetype-2.4.4-CVE-2011-0226.patch from Fedora freetype (rh#723469) (Add better argument check for `callothersubr'.) - based on patches by Werner Lemberg, Alexei Podtelezhnikov and Matthias Drochner

    2011-03-08 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.4-3 - Fix autohinting fallback (rh#547532): Ignore CFF-based OTFs.

2011-02-20 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.4-2 - Update the description to reflect that the bytecode interpreter was reenabled in the stock Fedora freetype, hopefully this time for good (see rh#612395). - Drop conditionals (again), always build the bytecode interpreter (now also in Fedora) and subpixel rendering (as that's the only reason to build freetype-freeworld at all) - Fall back to autohinting if a TTF/OTF doesn't contain any bytecode (rh#547532, patch backported from upstream git, also in Fedora freetype)

    2010-12-02 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.4-1 - Update to 2.4.4 (matches Fedora freetype) - Drop freetype-2.4.3-CVE-2010-3855.patch (fixed upstream)

    2010-11-15 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.3-2 - Add freetype-2.4.3-CVE-2010-3855.patch (Protect against invalid `runcnt' values.) - Resolves: rh#651764

    2010-10-26 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.3-1 - Update to 2.4.3 (matches Fedora freetype)

    2010-10-06 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.2-2 - Add freetype-2.4.2-CVE-2010-3311.patch (Don't seek behind end of stream.) - Resolves: rh#638522

2010-10-06 - Kevin Kofler <> 2.4.2-1 - Update to 2.4.2 (matches Fedora freetype, fixes several security issues) - Update the description to reflect that the bytecode interpreter was disabled in the stock Fedora freetype again. - Restore the conditionals (for the above reason). - Remove unused with_xfree86 conditional.
